Participants are invited to meet beside the River Don, to spend time beside - and connect to - the river. In response to the crisis that is unfolding around us, this opportunity seeks to re-ground our perspectives in conscious, intentional, and positive stillness and to refresh our creative response to nature and the more-than-human world. The short walk will culminate in a ‘nature-solo’, allowing for time spent in quiet reflection and observation. Participants will engage with an opportunity to discuss the experience and generate a creative output to share. The activity offers time to pause and reflect, to attend to internal and external environments in a creative way, to develop confidence in individual observation, and to situate oneself in communities of practice and care.

The creative outputs will become part of an exhibition for the River Dôn Project in March 2025 at Kelham Island Museum in Sheffield.
